Services

Whether your project is large in scale or small in scope is it still as important to us as it is to you.

We understand/recognize that quality craftsmanship can no longer be defined by the simple swinging of a hammer, the pounding of some nails, and a fresh coat of paint to complete a structure. Instead, the building needs to be respected as a complete, functional system comprised of many parts and components all of which must be properly assembled and integrated to ensure the longterm durability of the structure.

Sustainability becomes the project narrative from the initial design stage to the completion of the project, and beyond.

Hayward Design Build Services

Design

Whether you are at the beginning of the journey in designing your project or if you have already captured your vision in a set of construction drawings with the help of an architect or design professional, we can work with you to see your vision come to reality.

By engaging our clients early in the process and listening to their ideas, we will be able to determine whether the architectural style and project scope would warrant significantly detailed drawings for many aspects of the build. This will enable us to make the best recommendation as to whether working through your design with us in-house is the more sensible approach or if you should partner with one of our trusted architectural/design professionals to complete this part of the process.

No matter which design path you decide to embrace, we will help to ensure that through proper communication and collaboration between all parties, your project will be a delightful success!

Project Management

The successful execution of each project is ensured by one of our Projects Managers from the development of a transparent estimate and realistic project schedule, to maintaining the project budget, and through the effective management of carpenters, subcontractors, and materials until the project has been completed to the satisfaction of the client(s). It is the goal of each of our Project Managers to confirm that their projects are completed on time, within budget and built to the highest standard of quality, durability, and sustainability.

Permitting Requirements

During the initial stages of the planning process, obstacles may arise that could delay or derail a project. That is why it is important for us to possess an in-depth working knowledge of specific permitting requirements to help our clients navigate through potential issues with Act 250 regulations, septic and utility access, shoreline and wetland restrictions, restrictive building lots and possible geotechnical challenges. Helping overcome these potential roadblocks is just part of what we offer our clients.

Hayward Home Services

Now that you have moved into your new home, we realize that your investment needs to be properly maintained. Depending on the complexity of the home, some of the required maintenance tasks can seem somewhat daunting. This is why we offer our clients a continuing home maintenance program that includes regular onsite durability inspections of the home, changing the filters associated with heating, cooling, and whole-house ventilation equipment, along with other tasks such as painting, screen repairs, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, deck refinishing, and more. We would start by assessing the reoccurring maintenance needs of the home and then develop a schedule for future maintenance items that would work for you and your home. Should any of the items require specialized professionals, we would work with our network of vetted subcontractors in order to satisfy the needs of your home.

Advocacy

Vermont is one of the most picturesque locales in which to live, with stunning views from almost any venue-beautifully enhanced by the ever-changing seasons. However, residing in this “picture postcard” setting comes with some significant costs. One of these that we continue to advocate for is housing affordability by engaging in statewide home construction industry concerns as a member of the Vermont Builders and Remodelers Association where we are able to offer our insight and concerns at the Statehouse on issues such as ACT 250 Reform, S.37 the “Toxins” bill, the Three-Acre Rule/ Stormwater Permitting, and the Builder Contractor Registry-with the list continuing to grow. We have found that by being directly involved in these issues we offer to our clients and to the general public a better opportunity of keeping the cost of housing within their reach.
